TRUE LEADERSHIP (2)

LEADERS TAKE INITIATIVES
Initiative is the first step in a process that once taken determines subsequent events. Leaders must have the ability and the courage to take bold steps in the direction of their visions and goals. The ability to step out and do something that no one his doing or that no one has done is one great attribute of turnaround leaders. Leadership is about taking important step when no one else is willing to do so. Every leader that left a mark in the sand of time at one point or the other stepped out to do what they needed to do. Great leaders are great initiators.
Leaders that make great impacts are great initiators.
Leaders that are initiators are:
Ø  Bold enough to do what others are afraid of doing
Ø  They are willing to do what others are not willing to do
Ø  They are not kept back by the fear of failure
Ø  They are daring enough to step out in the face of daunting opposition and hostility
Ø  They are willing to try and fail rather than not trying at all.
Ø  They are more conscious of success than of failure
Ø  They are not easily discouraged or dissuaded.

DRESSING FOR GREATNESS (MEN)

These are simple suggestions to guide you when deciding on what to wear, what not to wear, when to wear what, and to where should what be worn. There are no fixed rules for what to wear but there are basics that should be kept in mind by every serious minded young man.
1.  Dress for a purpose. Don’t wear a dress because it’s in vogue. Know why you want to wear what you want to wear.
2.   Different occasions may require different kind of dresses. Make sure what you want to wear matches theoccasion. Don’t wear a native dress for an interview.
3.     If you are on a formal outing, you could wear a shirt and a pair of trousers with a matching tie.
4.     Your tie should match the colour of your shirt. Don’t wear a blue tie on a green shirt.
5.     You should have a good white shirt or a sky blue shirt in your wardrobe. These are generally acceptable in formal settings.
6.       You should also have a red/ wine colour tie. These are generally universal on most shirts.
7.       Have a black/blue jacket for formal occasions.
8.       Don’t wear a green or a yellow jacket for an interview.
9.       Don’t wear over sized clothes. Let your clothes be fitting but not too tight.
10.   Always wear a singlet or a vest under your shirt. Don’t wear a black vest under a white shirt.
11.   The colour of your socks should go with your trousers.
12.   Don’t sag your trouser; it gives people an impression that you are not a serious minded person.
13.   You should have a pack of white handkerchief in your wardrobe. Using a handkerchief helps to keep        your face free from moisture.
14.  Have a pair of black shoes. It is the universal foot wear.
15.   Keep your shoe well polished and shining at all times.
16. The colour of your belt should be the same as that of your shoes. Black shoes with a black belt and   brown shoes with a brown belt.
17.    Lightly apply body cream to your skin.
18.   You can wear a light deodorant. This gives you a nice smell and prevents unpleasant body odour.
19.   You can lightly apply white powder to your face. This gives your face a smooth look.
20.   Keep your hair low, trimmed and neatly combed at all times.
21.   Keep your finger nails trimmed and neat. Don’t paint your nails.
22.   Don’t wear sunglasses around for fashion. It may distort your dressing.

True Leadership (1)

An effective leadership is not a product of chance or circumstances. If we will come into sincere and effective leadership we must commit ourselves to the emergence of one. True leadership is borne out of deliberate effort and commitment of a people to right values from a heart willing to serve and a hand equipped to deliver results. Always keep in mind; true leadership is not a product of chance.

Steps in Becoming a True Leader

1. Develop a leaders mind

2. Develop a leader’s attitude

3. Develop and establish right values

4. Develop your leadership skills

5. Begin to take up responsibility

6. Focus on serving and not reward

 Any leader that is driven by reward rather than service will fail the people he is called to serve.

 Leadership is more about your sacrifice than reward

 If you are willing to serve (even if you are not rewarded) then you are on your way to becoming the   leader who will make a difference.
